'Field of Dreams

I have been in Springfield since Aug '05 and I think it's time people understand that this place hosts a wide variety of weirdos, which make for great stories.

Painful

so I'm at work...but have no work to do. If I didn't know how to play Euchre on yahoo I'd look up noose tying techniques. Anyway...nothing has happened here that ineterests me except..BEARS. the Bears are playing the Saints on Sunday...let's rehash last Sunday's celebration...

Went to Buffalo Wild Wings for game. The place was packed with Bears fans...and one Seahawks fan that was run out at halftime. I think he grew worrisome after a hundred eye rockets were shot his way. Needless to say the game was amazing. I told my roommates mid-way through the 3rd quarter that if we win we should throw a lil shindig. They won..we drove straight from BW to get beer. I partied from around 7pm to 5am...drinking 2 bottles of wine. Uh...nothing happened worth discussing. On the whole, I hate this place again...the fun people are either gone or not so much fun anymore. The roommates are great though which will help. Everyone go to Champaign next weekend!

Welcoming Myself Back to Springfield

Thus far, my return to the Field has been decent. Upon my return I thought it necessary to drink a bottle of wine and play some foosball with friends. The next day I got 35 cent wings. Yay for me. Then last night I went to a bar. Wooptie Doo. Who am I kidding, this place is no Chicago.

To vent some frustrations I've been having I attended the weekly 50 cent draft night at the hick shack. I was there not 5 minutes when a fight broke out between some frat wannabees. If I only had spikey hair and popping collar I could have brawled too. I'm not in the loop, though. There's a girl I see there every week who is always dancing or trying to be hot in some way. She does this to annoy me I think. I've talked to her for the last 4 Wednesdays and still haven't been impressed or inspired enough to remember her name. I don't care...she didn't remember mine either. So again last night she's doing her annoying "look at me" thing and she recognizes me. So she gets all fake-happy and says hi. I ask what my name is and she says Steve. So I was Steve for 5 minutes while talking. I didn't know her name so I just kept calling her Amanda. She got mad at me because she remembered my name without reciprocation. I dropped the Joe bomb on her and she laughed and we once again promised to remember each others' names. It might be Carrie...

Is it hipocritical to make fun of people who forget my name when I forget theirs? Absolutely. (I'm sure this comment will make someone happy).

I went to another bar afterwards and had similar fun. I ran into two crazy girls I work with at the Capitol. They had a psycho friend with them who immediately flirted. Not being interested I told her to look behind her. When she turned around, I walked away. Another girl friend of friend also started talking to me. She was nice so I didn't make fun seriously. She asked if I went to U of I because I was wearing an Illini shirt. I said yes. She said she went to Illinois State. Then I asked, "How does it feel to graduate from a fake University?" It was a total joke but she got offended. Oh well. Not interested in her either.

I've been in a slumpy mood, but there is much fun to be had. So I'll try and have as much as possible. A friend is throwing a huge party on Saturday. I think my ex will be in attendance. I'm going to switch things up and be so nice it creeps her out. That should be fun.
